Welcome

Baringa Early Learning Centre has a rich history in early childhood education and care, with an Exceeding National Quality Standard. Baringa has supported generations of families for over 40 years and continues to be home for children in the community.

We provide a safe, nurturing and stimulating environment. By supporting children to develop secure relationships at a young age, we acknowledge and care for their emotional needs, which influence positive behaviours and a curiosity for learning.

Baringa is a not-for-profit, incorporated association and registered charity. Families and staff are association members, with all profits reinvested into early childhood education for the community.

At the heart of Baringa is a team committed to early childhood education, some of whom have been with us for 25 years.

We have a love of learning across our Centre Management, Leadership Team, Early Childhood Teachers and educators with Diploma and Certificate level qualifications.

Our Approved Provider, the Baringa Board is comprised of volunteer board members with a diverse range of expertise, intertwined with a commitment to supporting our children.

We work closely with families and the community to provide an inclusive, nurturing environment to foster children’s development.

Education

We support children to become life ready with an education program based on the Belonging, Being, Becoming - Early Years Learning Framework.

Our curriculum embeds Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultural perspectives, sustainable practices and creating healthy habits at an early age. We encourage curiosity and exploration through nature play and supervised risky play.

We welcome children from birth to 5 years old, across our six rooms - Melaleuca, Hakea, Acacia, Grevillea, Banksia and Hibiscus.

Careers

Baringa is proud to have developed and continue to lead Early Learning Connection, providing supported career pathways in early childhood education for women in the Australian Capital Territory (ACT).

The program is a key action in the ACT Government’s Valuing Educators, Values Children A Workforce Strategy for the ACT Early Childhood Education and Care Profession (2023–25).

The educators make it so easy for us. You become an extension of the family as all our kids learn Baringa is a way of life.
